about

After Red O'Donnell's decisive victory over the English at Curlew Pass (15th of August 1599) the battlefield lay strewn with the dead and dying of both sides. During the night, a lone girl could be heard calling for her lover who had not been seen leaving the field, which by now lay silent and cold. Out of respect for the fallen and fatally wounded and not to disturb the final minutes of those lying there she called quietly using the tune she and her lover used to summon each other, their own calling.
